Right now, our first two circular window replacements are underway in Gothenburg.
In collaboration with Ragn-sells, we recycle window glass from old window frames so that it becomes new window glass.
Recycled window glass has more than 50% less carbon dioxide emissions than newly manufactured glass. The fine sand used as raw material for window glass is also a finite resource.
Glass shards are collected in clean flows by placing window frames outside the project on pallets and being conveyed to the pre-treatment facility where the glass is crushed. The glass goes through a quality assurance facility and is then shipped to Germany as raw material, where it becomes new window glass (flat glass).
Despite transport, this means a 50% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions compared to manufacturing glass from virgin raw materials.
